Proto and wright have a proven weaker metal compound than Snap-on as well. How can you claim Snap on is better than a tool that comes off the same line? Many of the tools come off the same production lines. Snap-on has also owned Williams since 1993…Ĭorrect. And when they did everyone claimed they were better than every other brand. Wilde does not make our pliers as we have a factory for pliers in Milwaukee, So two years ago Irwin made the Snap on taps and dies and then they started manufacturing their own and magically became better? Irwin hasn’t made Snap-on taps and does in over 2 years as Snap-on bought their own company and begun their own production Snap on makes their own dead low ball peens now or rebrands from someone else? ![]() You're really trying to claim that Snap on makes the best of every tool and no other tool made by any other company is of equal or greater quality?įirst off, trusty cook does not make our hammers… if you use your eyes you can one clearly see that and two if you know anything about Snap-on that is not even the slightest bit true. They offer specialty tools for automotive that often aren't available from other manufacturers. The one area where Snap on does excel is in specialty tools. Proto and Wright make hardline tools like chrome sockets, impact sockets and wrenches that are just as high of quality if not better. All made in the USA in the same Snap on plants. Williams ratchets are the older Snap on designs made on the same machines with the same metal. which is a copy of the Snap on square hard handle. I've seen their plant where they made the tools.Īnd what about Williams USA? Their screwdrivers are Snap on shanks pressed into the Williams handle. Wilde used to make (maybe still does) pliers and punches for Snap on. Irwin makes the tap and die sets that all the tool trucks rebrand. How can you say the Snap on is better when it's a rebrand? Same with Eklind L-keys. Trusty Cook makes the Snap on deadblow hammers that Snap on rebrands. Have you used tools from these other brands? I have hand tools from all of the above including Snap on and the quality is just as good from these other brands. I'll stick to just paying cash, I can still borrow about anything I don't have from someone else in the meantime. Plus mac dealers last about as long as a chocolate teapot, no good. ![]() ![]() Some guys have mac stuff here but most of it is the same price as snap on and lesser quality. Where possible I'll buy a cheaper option but for bread and butter stuff anything but snap on is a waste of my money, I'll break it and end up buying snap on anyway. We like Japanese tools here, koken, ktc, vessel etc. The European brands don't make much of a range, they might make a good spanner set but that's about it and it's still no snap on and impossible to warranty, same with any other American or Japanese brand. Nothing else really compares or can be relied upon like snap on. I'm in the UK, the only tools I buy are snap on, some select blue point stuff, sealey, halfords (both only really available in the uk), some Amazon cheap crap and knipex pliers.
